Love for the Undeserved

At Christmas we often celebrate love as something warm and sentimental—but John 3:16–17 reveals a love far deeper. God’s love is not shown by ignoring judgment, but by rescuing us from it. Like the rainbow after the flood, Christmas is a sign of mercy that comes only after the reality of judgment. In sending His Son, God did not come to condemn the world, but to save it—by stepping into the storm Himself. This is the love that gives Christmas its true wonder and lasting hope.
